it should just automatically aquire the license when you try to play the file, if it doesn't its likely that the file is goosed, just download the file you wanted from Soulseek or kazaa this way you'll avoid the license caper :)

Lately, I've been waking up and finally realising how bad KaZaA sucks... they use way too much spyware, add unwanted programs to your computer which, if you try to delete, they either don't go, or render KaZaA useless...
The amount of times I've downloaded files and found them to have strange extensions such as .gp3... I usually delete them as I understand it's pretty simple, for someone who can to put viruses into their 'Shared Folder', meaning anyone can download them and become infected...
Also, when people are downloading from me, my computer becomes terribly laggy and slow and, I prefer to buy the CD as it should be, there's something nicer about a professional CD case than a 'EMTEC CD-R HIGH PERFORMANCE' case, with Malice Mizer or whatever scribbled accross it.
It also, hardly ever has the songs I'm after, as anyone who knows me will agree, I have a... different taste in music and, it's difficult getting hold of some of the songs I'm after...
I use it less and less recently...

Yeah gotta agree with you there, kazaa does suck a bit and is heffty saturated with spyware, but there is an alternative kazaa lite get it here kazaa lite (http://doa2.host.sk/) its reportedly spyware free, I've been using it for a while now with no probs, it also gives you 1000 participation level so you don't get guff download speeds, I downloaded a 700mb file yesterday in about 2 hours cruising around 120kbs all the way, it may be worth pointing out though at this juncture that using kazaa or any other file sharing network without using anti virus software or a firewall is a bit like playing Russian roulette, kazaa is flooded with virus' and trojans, and is a hackers paradise, just the other day there my firewall reported 36 attempted attacks within a 24 hour period and that was only cause I was using kazaa, you may want to think about that the next time your pc starts doing its own thing or decides to shut its self down for no apparent reason :)

You on Broadband, G?
Postscript:: How do you check Firewall status like attacks and such?

yup 1meg, if your using Norton etc just click on the system tray icon for your firewall it should tell you attacks and other statistics in there, if your using the built in XP firewall then I'm not sure that you can check with that. :)

That would explain fast downloads, I'm on Dial~Up so they can up to a day per song... I'll check my Firewall in a bit, should give me more reason to hate KaZaA...
