As nice an idea as it is... Microsoft own a LARGE portion of the software companies out there and quite simply have the monopoly on PC Operating Systems...

Which means that other software developers develop their software (as software developers do) to run on a microsoft platfrom... which has been the biggest problem with Linux... lack of compatability....
