If you have a Nokia then go and join;

http://www.club.nokia.com

Theres a good resource in there for developers like Info on Mobile-Java and scripting in C++

A good starting point. You can subscribe to relevant news-mails too.

----------------------

You'll need to get some software to compile Java with. Then you can put them in the fone by either data-cable or uploading the app to a wap server from your PC then downloading it with your mobile.

Ummmmmmmmm... thats a good question.

I lost my logon password when I upgraded to Linux. I'm just trying to retrieve it now.

I'm pretty sure it's in the games or services menu somewhere tho...

Sorry - ignore my last post!

Go to http://www.forum.nokia.com/main.html

That's the so called developers forum.

A good first read would be 'Getting started with games'

:D You didn't need to join club nokia at all! LOL Ah well, my appologies. At least you're covered if it breaks down...

Hiya, about free games for the 3510i, i use this wap site http://tagtag.com/jrend you don't need any cables to download them and all it costs is the price of your wap call. Here's another wap site where you can get colour backgrounds, tones and stuff http://www.wap41.com/gazzaman2k hope this helps you

This beer has rendered me unable to figure out the first site

But theres a coupla quick and entertaining downloads off the second link!

Sadly they're all demos but for the sake of 20 - 30pees worth of WAPping well worth it.

I likes Caveman :D

Good call Michelle!

 ~Doh!

I was trying to browse the site on my PC :D

The first site looks good too but it's just for Nokia 35** and 6100 types...

Here's a quick summary on the original topic of writing Java games for Nokia.

The only way to do this is if you don't own a a DCT-3 fone. Nokia won't release the F-bus/M-bus transfer protocols for Java on DCT3 fones for some reason.

Then, on top of Sun Microsystem's free development suite and compiler you need a datacable and a full copy of OxygenII.

---------------

It's virtually impossable to serve M-Java over WAP unless you set up your own server.

To serve Java games to any fone the server needs to have a Java system such as Tomcat running. And after two months worth of searching I have to say there aren't any free hosts who will do this. :(

I have a Club Nokia card, says I can get discounts and stuff, only problem is I don't really look like a "Wolfenstein Manbread"

(Was bored so I filled in the online form and registered my phone, didn't know my name would matter that much...)

I can, however get something extra on the games section of my phone... I just put the number I found on the card into the section where it says Club Nokia ID and now I have some thing for scores, passwords I guess... god only knows what I do with them!

I used to do that with names too until one day I lost my dial up password...

Had to phone up BT and tell some poor lad that my mother's maiden name was in fact Blatterchimp.

He had to put me on hold he was laughin so much :(
