I'm setting up a general music website aimed at kickstarting the Northern Ireland music scene. Although obviously I'm looking for participation and content from other major music places like Mancs, Brum, Liddypool, Scotland and Wales. Lets face it, all the decent local talent emmigrates anyway...
The music scene here in N.I isn't super I have to admit but thats mainly down to not enough people knowing the contacts and venues they need to get going. But it's a heckova lot better than it was even five years ago. And I think it's getting better all the time!
The magazine ALT-Ulster is moving into mainstream production this month and launching a souped up website to accompany it. Also we're edging into the summer so the local Goodfellas like Chris Roddy and Chris from Apache will likely be busy planning interesting events. All the bars and venues will be reving into festival mode...
I'm throwing my tuppence in by setting up a site to try and tie everything together so whether you're looking for a band, a dj, a place to play, a manager, player or even advice on how to get a certain sound in the studio you can find what you need in one place.
If you can help in any way...and I mean anything. Like can you write a review, are you an artist, do you have an opinion on what you want from live music? Even if you just have a kool suggestion for things to include in the site then it will all be gratefully recieved.
