type the following code into ur fone:
#pw+1234567890+1#
(you can get p,w and + by repeatedly pressing the * key)
if ur fone displays "sim was not restricted" then ur free to use a sim card from any network.
if ur fone displays "code error" (may also reboot) then ur fone is locked and u will need to get it unlocked b4 it will accept a sim from a different network.
I liked this one. So heres all of the status codes in that series...:D
#PW+1234567890+1# For service provider lock.
#PW+1234567890+2# For the network (handover?) lock.
#PW+1234567890+3# For country lock.
#PW+1234567890+4# For the general SIM lock.
Works for sure on all Nokia 3*** models.
If you try these codes then take care to enter them exactly. And if you do get a code error then do not keep using it to restart your fone. Do it once and remember the result.
Also you can enter the Mastercode (1234567890) in any order so long as each number is entered only once.
I really don't recommend experimenting as if you get three code errors at one sitting then there's a good chance your fone will be perminantly blocked!!! :p

just to echo what Dusti_man has warned you.......
u can permanently lock ur fone to a network by experimenting so even if u do enter the correct mastercode to release the sim lock(s) ur fone will not accept it.
also this is for dct-3 nokia fones.
dct-4 nokis have 7 locks instead of 4 and a 15-digit mastercode instead of 10!

My phone is locked to vodafone, how can i unlock it? Vodafone will do it for me, but only for £20 until its a year old, which its not. Ive found sites that unlock other makes & models, but not nokia 3310. i could buy a cable....but that costs more than unlock fee. can anyone help?
Cheers, Rich.

There are a few places offering remote unlocking. It's a bit dodge as you will need to hand over exploitable information to a complete stranger. Including your number, your IMEI and your network provider.
In practise thats plenty of information to be going on for someone wishing to clone your fone but that likely wont happen unless you're on contract.
To be honest most fone retailers are doing under the counter unlocks these days. It's fast and well worth the five or ten pound fee to have a full choice of network providers.
-----------
I have a DCT3 app which calculates 10 digit unlock codes from the IMEI but I have no idea about the syntax to use that code on your fone.

That could be handy... I know the syntax for my phone, but just dont have a code. I found a dodgy gadget which was supposed to generate a code for me, but it didnt accept it: twice. Does that mean if i mess it up again i might be in danger of locking it for good? i hope not, because im getting very sick of vodafone and want to escape...

Jus PM'd you about that app.
Can't gaurantee anything but I tried putting bad codes into my 3410. I did that twice then removed the battery for a few minutes.
When I powered up again the PUK counters had gone back to the start again so I'd say it only blocks your fone if you mess up three times in one session.
But as I say, no gaurantees.

I think the relevent netmonitor test is #51 third line down. It will display;
3_____3_____10_____10___
PUK1__Count_PUK2___Count
...or something like that.

STOP!!!
there are no unlock code generators for nokia dct-3 fones (thats anything from 5110 upto 3410 or 5210).
these can simply be unlocked using the relevant software and a mbus datacable.
the software i use and recommend is called eeprom tools. (one click of the mouse and ur fones unlocked)
a mbus datacable costs about £10 and can be used over and over so if u unlock a couple of mates fones at say £5 each....uve made ur money back.

That's very true.
I just did a search to find out how to use these codes and you can't. With DCT3 its a cable or bust.
Which means those sites offering remote unlocking for 3310, 3330 and 3410 are cheesy social engineering gambits aimed at getting someone to send their IMEI and net IDs along with their fone number and maybe even a couple of quid to boot!
The thing that gets me is that sombody wrote a useless program to calculate unusuable codes. It actually lists the fones! There's no trojans or spyware or anything in it...just a small yet very pointless DOS program
-------------------------
Where did you get Eeprom Tools from, mister T? Every time I download it the files are corrupted! I gave up 'cos I assumed it was a flashcable app...

franbeec.....most unlock software is useless without sum kinda hardware to accompany it, so £10 is still alot better than paying around £20 to ur network for the code (and waiting a week to get it!)
