hmmm I'm pressuming what you mean is you got your phone wet and it now doesn't work? as you can't get water in the processor as there is nowhere for it to get in as its a solid object, ok there is no successor to the 8310 its a dead platform as far as I'm aware, the nearest you'll get is one of the 6xxx or 7xxx series Nokias at the moment.

It depends on how much money you've got to buy an new phone really. I woudol be presuming that after an 8310 you wouldnt be wanting a big phone like the 3650, so if i were you a 7250/i would be the best small phones out about now if you wanted to stick with nokia, although im sure Mr.G has plenty of awful things to say about them :p
You could always try a sony-ericsson, the T610 is a decent phone apart from the awful screen, which you cannot see in bright sunlight at all.
Depends on your money and what you want your phone to do really.

am goin to have a look at another 8310 tonite but do you think £80 is too much for a 6 month old second hand 8310 in good cond.?

in a word yes, the 8310 is a phone pretty much at the end of its lifespan, and it has more software glitches than a bad install of Windows ME, also for not much more than £80 you could get one of the newer phones with a coloured screen, I've personally seen 8310's changing hands for around the £20 mark, this may seem a touch cheap but I think its a fair price as the market is saturated with 8310's, and over the next year millions of people will be trying to offload them to upgrade thus rendering the phone pretty much worthless, its a buyers market as it were. :D

never ever ever had a software prob with my 8310 and i had it near 1 and a half years now. they rawk :D You could probably buy a new one on PAYG for £80 though lol, with some free cred :D
The next Fashion Phone in the series is the Nokia 7210. Lovelly phone. Better than its big siss the 7250 IMHO.
the 6100 seems quite durable and reliable also. I love my 6100 and my 7210 - but the smaller size and firmer feel of the 6100 does give it an edge.

I just got a Samsung S300....far superior to any nokisa around at the moment, but by the look of the Nokia 6600 they are realising that they have to get their act together as more and more people are switching to other manufacturers for better quality screens/ringtones etc.

I highly doubt that, coz the 8310, despite being an oldish fone, is still really popular and is still over £150 on pay as you go...

lol granted it has a better screen than the current group of Nokias but a better screen hardly constitutes it being far superior to any Nokia, in fact besides the screen its no better or worse than any of the standard Nokias and certainly isn't in the same ball park as the 3650/7650, and imo 40 bit polyphonics are a just gimick if I wanted vocals etc in my ringtones/message tones then I'll use wavs which are vastly better than polyphonics.
And Franbeam well played on the 6510 it definitely looks a lot better than an 8310, although for about £70 brand new you could have got this funky Sony Ericsson pictured bellow, I'm not a fan of Sony Ericsson but it is kinda funky for the money :D

i've had just about every phone that is out at the moment and the best in my opinion is the t610 by far , although i am a traditional nokia fan this phone just rocks , sony ericsson seem to be going from strength to strength whereas nokia are becoming detached , added to that the new sony ericsson z1010 appears to be even better it seems that nokia are a falling star
