the chicken or the egg??? your theory used on here...please submit

what came first the chicken or the egg??? this is just a random question that i thought would be interesting, please post your answers and i will post what i think it was, my theory is a bit strange but here goes :

an old species of bird that diddnt lay eggs evolved into a chicken which then layed an egg which hatched into another chicken and so on. so the chicken came first.

that was my theory what about yours??????

the age old question with an easy and obvious answer - the chicken came first as an egg is just a chickens equivalent of a womb, as such it can't possibly exist before the creature that created it, and before anyone asks where the chicken came from it came from the sea like every other living creature on this planet, but over millions of years it adapted to its surroundings in a bid to survive, I like to call it evolution you can call it whatever you like :p

I find it very hard to believe that everything on this planet came from the sea...If we all came from the sea then surely we would be able to stay underwater for loads longer than we can even though we've apprently evloved. And if the whole planet was covered in water why did it change?

we didn't really have much choice back then as there wasn't really anywhere else to come from, but over millions of years of volcanic eruptions land was formed, we then moved onto said land and because we live on land we have no need to hold our breath under water anymore as thats not really what humans are designed for, although some people can hold there breath for quite a long time. :)
