here we go...my dad told me this ages ago....see if u can solve it, tho u wont
- three men go into a shop and want to buy a tv for £30
- they pay £10 each
- the woman knows its £5 off but doesn't tell the men
- she wants to make money so tells them its £3 off nd gives them the £3 back, keeping £2 for herself
- that means the 3 men payed £9 each
- now £9 + £9 + £9 = £27
- £27 plus the £2 she kept for herself = £29
where did the other pound go?!

oh rite....but they dont tho
say the £5 was all in £1 coins. she keeps 2of the £1 coins for herself and gives 1 coin back to each of the men. meaning theyve paid £10 and got £1 back each. so theyve basically each spent £9
each, each, each, lots of each's

the £1 doesn't go anywhere its a play on words, they all pay £10 each for the telly they get a £1 refund each meaning they have paid £27 for the telly £27 + the £3 they got back = £30, the way the riddle tells it you are adding the woman in the shops £2 onto the £27 she already has for the telly but the £2 is already part of the £27 (£25 for TV + womans £2 = £27) so you can't add it again, so the real question should be where did the £2 extra come from :p

Oo yeah you're totally right (of course) - the question is just written wrong :P you add the £3 off to make £30.
£30 - £3 discount = £27 they paid.
£27 - £2 she kept = £25 actual discounted price (£5 off) she was supposed to sell at before the greedy moo decided to keep some of the money.
I think you should name and shame this woman, maybe even right to watchdog :P
