over the next few days all prepay customers on the 'standard' plan will be recieving a letter about migration to the new 'everyone' tarriff.
between february 5th and 8th all standard customers will be moved to the new everyone tarriff.
the new tarriff is charged at 30p per min for the first £10. 20p per min between £10.01 and £20. 10p per min for £20+ in any calendar month.
'everyone' lets u make calls to anyone at any time of the day including calls to mobiles on other uk networks. it excludes international and premium rate calls.
anyway thought id let you all know :)

I'm on T-Mobile, I never got that letter. Unfortunately I changed to said price plan ages ago (a few months ago). It absolutely sucks. I spend about £10 in a month! I've never got it down to 20p/min let alone 10p.
I changed because when I topped up my account, the voice told me all about how fabulous 'Everyone' was. I stupidly changed to it, now I can't change back...
Is it too late? Does T-Mobile have just the one price plan? If not, does anyone know how I can change back to the standard plan?
On second thoghts; forget that, I'm changing to o2 pretty soon but I'll keep my message up for you other unfortunate souls on T-Mobile. ^_-

unfortunately u cant change back to the standard plan.
after feb 5th everyone will be on the everyone tarrif (no pun intended :) )
the logic behind this is...as there are so many mobile fones in the uk, all on different networks, it is unlikely that u use ur mobile only to call other mobiles on the same network.
on the old standard plan calls to other networks are/were charged at 30p per min always.
the new everyone plan means the most u will ever pay for a cross network call is 30p per min, and u could find urself paying as little as 10p per minute, which is the lowest rate available in the uk from any network on prepay.
the downside to the everyone plan is if u are an occasional user and use ur fone less than 30 mins a month, in tjhis instance u will charged 30p per min at all times :(

On the old standard plan calls were 30p a minute for the first two minutes you spent on the phone of each day, after these two minutes, it dropped to what... 5p a minute I think.
I'm not entirely sure how much it was reduced to but it did go down and it was pretty cheap. I think it was only this cheap on other T-Mobile phones which, according to my phone all calls were barred from.
Anyway, isn't it stupid taking away the privellage of chosing how you pay for your service? I mean new people who are chosing a mobile phone network are going to choose one that gives them the choice of which price plan, I use my phone mainly to text which is why O2 seems better for me (for their 300 free texts per 30 days) but, aren't the price plans designed so if you text, you can chose a plan where texts are cheapest and, if you call a lot, the everyone plan for example?
It's one of the reasons I'm leaving T-Mobile, the resons include:
1) Bad service (people had no idea)
2) Top up service (phone could never do it, kept saying I put the number in wrong so I had to keep phoning customer services)
3) Above reason (Choice of price plans taken away)
4) Cost of calls (i mean, I never spend over £10 in a month, let alone £20!!)
5) The text message I sent requesting a 'T-Mobile' operator logo didn't work!! (Very minor but, It's the small thiongs that make up life, ya know!?)

just trying to point outr sum good points and sum bad ones.
but yes totally agree with u on the "should have the choice" thing.
but if u look at all networks tarrifs now, both contract and prepay, theyre starting to simplify things by having no peak/off-peak or no same/different network charges. the public is fed up with the confusion!

uve gotta remember on the t-mobile standard plan, calls to mobiles on other networks wer 30p per min always, they now drop to 10p per minute, the lowest rate available in the uk from any network on prepay. also on 'standard' although calls dropped to 5p per min, it reset to 30p every day. on everyone it resets once a month. basically, if the only numbers u ever call are landlines or other t-mobiles then u may have been better off on the standard plan but if u call voda, orange and o2 (and most people do coz theres so many mobiles in the uk now) then you'll save money on 'everyone'

the saga continues.......
as of 1st may 2003. anyone still on standard plan will find x-network call charges will be increased to a flat rate of 40p per min regardless of how many minutes uve used that day!
