...ones where a leaders view/ambition is reflected onto brainwashed drones are obviously very wrong. It can take people rescued from such cults years to recover, and some never recover at all.

But there must be some good "cults", more like groups, that do the society thang? :)

i think its fine for people to go to groups which help them deal with life or whatever, but when they are pressured into handing over money, and its having a negative affect on their life and friendships, like on Neighbours, then its wrong.

It would be ok, if people just realised that the people who run these groups dont know the answer to everything, and accepted that the group isnt solve all their problems. Unfortunately, people just want a quick solution and someone to blame, which i think is what a lot of "cults" offer.

if people just spent less time believing in silly pie in the sky ideas that cults and or religion are going to somehow miraculously solve all there problems, and instead spent more time extracting the knuckle from the ring piece and actually dealing with there own problems then the world would be sitting pretty, I think thats the major downfall of all religions/cults instead of actually doing anything of worth they would rather wait around for some geezer that nobody has actually ever seen to sort it out for them. :p

nah you just hit the nail on the head there, we do just die as sure as night follows day so people are right to live for today, as when your time is up then thats it you don't get no second chances, so while all the religious and cultish type peoples out there are standing about waiting for something to happen I'll be out there making it happen with the rest of the peeps who understand the basic principle of life ----> you live it ;)

I think God'll hav his day,I believe he's just waitin for those last few ppl to turn to him an when they do he'll sort things out, for good but there r so many ppl out there like u guys who r 'happy' without him or belief in him. If u had created something, say a pc or sumthing,and you showed it to sum 1, and then they go "oh that pc's great...Brenda, top notch that is" ur just standin there like..."but i built it,its MY creation" Well if God exists he must feel rly hurt coz evolution or wotever u believe in is getting all the credit for HIS marvelous works...especially hurt because its sumthing he created thats getting all the credit,he wud probably wish he'd never made any of it,but he hasnt destroyed it because there r still those of us who believe he's the creator of the univers,galaxy,planets,solar system...everything

PMSL are you for real? so your seriously saying the reason that this god you believe in so dearly has done nothing is because some people don't believe in him, so while his own people the people who believe in him are suffering and being murdered, tortured or raped like all the rest of us non believers, that he is standing by doing nothing simply because he's in the cream puff and is cutting his nose of to spite his face or his believers in this case, well all I can say is he's gonna have a long wait as the majority of sensible people refuse to give credit to someone who either doesn't exist or has no proof of existence, and even if he did exist those same people would refuse to support a god who has done nothing to help them during thousands of years of suffering, and hasn't even had the decency to show face all because he's taking an attention seeking tantrum because a few folk didn't believe in him, is this the god you speak of? if so then sorry but he reeks of vaporware or loser juice I've not made my mind up yet.
