just had a wee scan there and I don't see a bit for converting mp3 to midi, I could be missing something but isn't the upload bit just for midi files and not mp3? if there is an mp3 converter and I've missed it, it could be cause the file you are trying to upload is either too large or theres just simply an error with the page, hope this helps :)

ok if you still wanna convert your mp3's to midi click the link bellow, its a small program (1.2mb) that does it for you, I've not used it myself so don't know if its any good or not, but should hopefully do the job. :)
midi to mp3 converter (http://www.allformp3.com/download/all4wid270.exe)

MP3 to Midi convertors are not great at all unless you have the money to go out and buy them. I have been looking for one for a while now to make polytones for my phone. Everyone I have used including the one posted by the wonderful "Mullet of G" has made a mash of the song and it never sounds n e thing like it.

hi Mr Mullet
i just want to say , that its quite hard to do and get the same good sound quality once it has been converted from a mp3 to a midi
also u have to get from the MP3 to the Midi so the end result plays only a 1 chord midi for the nokia ringtones to sound and work well on the CBF convertor
plus im sure it has to go from MP3 to WAV to MIDI to get that 1 chord midi file
so not just a case of MP3 to Midi
theres alittle Wav involved also :p

2 rite
the converter is just for midi files into ringtones.
however, as mullet said, page cannot be displayed will be because the file is too large. as a rather brutal security control, the converter simply throws you off the site if you try and upload anything too big. quite sensible when you think about how many other people could be doing it at the same time as you.
your best bet is to try and find midi files. if it's not in our own top 20, ie its an older song, you might be able to find it elsewhere. try google. beware however that the midi will need to sound like our previews sound - just one note after the other as heidi says.
you'd probably save a lot of time using the RTTTL converter (as RTTTL is relatively easy to get hold of) or by putting in the notes yourself on the ringtone creator.

lol Sonic just been looking at the convertor after downloading it
and to be honest it looked pretty good and easy
then i get to this
Unregistered version of WIDI DOES NOT allow saving of MIDI files.
Dammit
:(
but then u can save them IF u register and IF u pay £32

ok the cracking of unregistered software is against the law and is therefore wrong, so anyone partaking in such practices is a criminal, so if you just happened to start WIDI (aforementioned mp3 to midi converter) clicked enter registration code and entered your name and a random serial number, then clicked ok exited WIDI, and you then went to my computer and found C:\Program Files\WIDI in c drive, and added the loader.exe from the linked file to this folder and right clicked on it and made a shortcut on your desktop and used it to load WIDI, then you'd be breaking the law so just don't do it. ;)
do not download this file (http://crck.passwd.ws/up/get.php?n=209)
PS Please delete this post if it is inapropriate :)

jus go on blotblue.com and go 2 da ringtonez section, where u cn listen 2 da ringtone, chooose save target as, but they're mp3, but if u turn the .mp3 extension into .mid it works as a midi file, like it plays in media player and stuff, but when i tried 2 convert it in2 a ringtone but it sed page cannot b displayed.....:(

yes thats because even tho you change the file extension to .midi its still an mp3 and no amount of file extension names are gonna change that fact, so the minute you try to convert it via this website the conversion program thinks "ding some smartass is trying to feed me an mp3" the response to this is the ever so welcome "page cannot be displayed" , there is a solution to this problem though...........don't try to convert mp3's :p
