I dont think its a big deal if a guy uses hair straighteners, they're allowed to care about how their hair looks too. Loadsa boys spend time perfecting their hair anyway. I love my hair straighteners, but wouldnt a guy need quite long hair to be able to use em?

No Alice, the hair doesn't actually need to be that long to straighten it, Gareth AGtes uses them...I'm not a fan or anything but I remember him sayin it before, I asked my homosexual hair straightener if he straightens his hair, he sed yah he does, not that u hav to be homosexual to use them
On another note...
STRAIGHTENERS R MY LIFE!
I use em like every day! Not too gud for my hair but lots ov conditioner fixes that =DDD

lol you gotta be joking, if people had started strightening there hair in class back when I was at school, I'd have laughed myself right out of my seat, don't get me wrong its perfectly ok for both guys and girls to use hair straightners if they want to, but doing it at school is just seriously naff, and just reeks of hey look at me and my fancy hair straightners aren't I the coolest.....I'm thinking not :p

But I rly want GHD's coz everyone says they're so good! and I'v seen the greatness they create in hair :D

dear oh dear you lot are a salesmans dream, I'll tell you what I've got these PHAKE hair straighners they look just like a set of Boots £10 straighners but there not the same ya see, as these ones are 150 squid and will create all sorts of greatness with hair, as seen on TV on the hit show Eldorado I'll be willing to let them go for 50 squid :p
Alice
4th April 2004, 11:05 PM
Lol! But the GHD ones are better than other hair straighteners! Although i have heard some scary stories about setting hair on fire...... :p
The Mullet of G
4th April 2004, 11:11 PM
they may well be better but nigh on 100 squid for a set of hair straighners costing less than a deep sea diver (£5) to make is questionable, when it comes to buying stuff I'll generally go for quality over cost but not if that cost cannot be justified or is only there because of a fancy badge :D
franbeec
5th April 2004, 03:22 PM
Yeah but ya get what ya pay for....
The Mullet of G
5th April 2004, 03:41 PM
erm no actually you don't as I stated in my previous post it costs less than a fiver to make a set of GHD straightners which they then retail for around £100, it doesn't matter how many fancy badges you stick on them or how many TV shows the manufacturer sponsors, two ceramic plates a heating element and some plastic are still worth less than a deep sea diver :D
franbeec
5th April 2004, 03:51 PM
Lmao no it doesnt cost less than a fiver to make a pair of GHD straighteners! They had to do loads of research to get them at such good quality
It only takes them 6 seconds to heat up due to a built in micro processor,
they hav ceramic technology
they straighten any type of hair
and so on.......
The best of the best, it's up to you if you wann abe a cheap scape :D :p :p :p :D
The Mullet of G
5th April 2004, 04:22 PM
lol nice try but you aint convincing me any here, I've spent most of my working life in the manufacturing sector, I know how much it costs to manufacture stuff as it was my job to know, I've been responsible for the buying of all stock and spares for companies so I know how much things cost when bought in bulk, and believe me it doesn't take much research to stick a thermocouple, a heating element, 2 ceramic plates and a cheap surface mount chip into a set of hair straighners, also I think you'll find the microprocessor (value less than 50p) you speak of doesn't have anything to do with how quickly they heat up it only controls the temperature in conjunction with a thermocouple and stops them going too hot or cold, its the heating element that does the heating and theres nothing fancy or new about heating elements, lol bout the "ceramic technology" two ceramic plates hardly constitutes technology now does it ;)

5th April 2004, 04:29 PM
Ok ok, so we all pretty much realise that with hair straighteners...and practically everythign else we buy...we're basically getting ripped off cos the companies wanna make a profit right? But even if GHD are ridiculously over-priced, they're still way better than a lot of other hair straighteners, so GHD are obviously gonna and make the most out of that. Everyone i know, and all the hairdressers i've asked, swears by em. *nods*
The Mullet of G
5th April 2004, 04:46 PM
I'm not saying they are or aren't the best but you've gotta ask yourself are you only wanting them because everyone else has them? either way when it comes to buying stuff for me money isn't an object I'll always go for the best quality but only if the quality and product warrant there price tag, I don't care how many hair dressers or how many people I know say GHD straighners are the greatest thing since sliced bread, they are still only a set of hair straighners and as such are never worth £100, thats not paying for quality thats just ripping folk off who have been sucked in by all the hype, I mean how many of the people you know have tried all the available straightners to be able to say GHD are the best? I'm hearing zero so therefore they are only going on what someone else has told them or what they have heard or seen on GHD promotional material which is obviuosly going to say they are the best, I'm not saying don't buy them heck buy 3 pairs as it aint my money, I'm just saying that even if I had a mullet like Mick Hucknall's I still wouldn't pay £100 for a pair of hair straightners :p

5th April 2004, 08:52 PM

and Mr Mullet i WOULD pay £200+ for em cause they ARE THAT GOOD (even though mine were a prezzie) ;)

my mum has really curly hair so i decided to straighten it but
i couldnt stop laughing coz it looked so funny.
i told her it wouldnt come out and she believed me.
my mum isnt too up to date with stuff like this.
she went mad at me.
wel you kind of had to be there but anyways mine cost £15 and they are just as good as my friends pair which cost £50.
