Ah, its not just me then.

Topped up as Asda's this morning and had no credit yet. When I tried to top up by debit card it said they were "experiencing problems and to try again later."

Hopefully it will be working soon.

I'm not phoning their customer care again LOL ! - costs 50p a min

CRAPPY O2

BTW, Is it the 300 text ones everyones have problems with?

screwedlilbunny
2nd October 2004, 01:25 PM

Ive only got £1 credit.

Will they know Im doing it this way if im on the phone for like 10 mins and its ment to cost 50p a min?

Ben
2nd October 2004, 03:27 PM
I don't think there's much they can do about it to be honest. The method has been there long enough - if they didn't want people doing it they would have prevented it by now surely.

i dont have any problems getting the texts, but the GPRS makes me want to bang my head against the nearest wall at times

i say we all get one the phone to em and tell em wot we think, they sure as hell wont let it happen again! :D

they've already got in my bad books for giving poor GPRS services and not letting me change tariff because they class "online" & "offline" as two different companies... then they go and charge me for SMS when they're supposed to be free!

ok, so now i'm out to get a 3 phone as soon as possible (top priority) :D

yes, i am aware that O2 is Three's roaming partner but that doesn't bother me :D

Must be quite a serious problem, its been down over 24 hours.

lol O2 seem to be lurching from one crisis to another just now probably due to its shambolic nature, stand forward all the people who said O2 was a great network, to many people stand back and accept 3rd rate service, not only do they accept it but all to many defend the service as well whats that all about? :)

Luke
3rd October 2004, 12:28 PM
Well said Mullet :D

yes i rang them yesterday and today and they have told me that its been down since early friday evening and they are doing everything they can to fix the problem. they have no idea when it will be back and working but have guaranteed that credit will be added as soon as it has been fixed.

As is I seriously am getting annoyed, the send me a txt on friday telling me i need to top up to get my free txt messages, i go to top up and i cnt hmmm I think we should all be given some sort of compensattion for this how bout an 3 months worth of free credit on our phones??? as in 3 months free txts and free landline calls and free wap for 3 months???

That sound reasonable??? it's either that or go to a different network c'mon o2 users PROTEST Join me in demanding compensation, as a result of this I couldn't get in contact wit muh gal to tell her i'd b an hour late nso thanks o2 i now single cos of ya

Luke
6th October 2004, 10:19 AM
yep thats true.

Got my credit on Monday and it disappeared again they said I had a Home bolt on costing £9.99 a month which is wasn't told about

I phoned them and told them I wanted to be disconnected and they said they will switch it off (even though its for a year) and give me £3 and 100 free minutes from my home post code which was pretty cool :D LOL

I would have been stuffed if they really disconnected me though LOL - that was just a threat.

Stub58
6th October 2004, 12:12 PM
u aint the only one to lose credit almost instantly  i have lost ova 7 quid I dunno how i aint got no bolt ons. I had £8 summit and after several FAILED attempts to connect to o2 wap I discovered that all of a sudden I only had £1.42 or summit like that  i checked call lists, dint make n e calls, checked sent messages (despite the fact i get 300 free messages a month) i hadn't sent n e so like i musta got charged a hell of a lot for jus trying to connect i kept getting connection lost while connecting or ping time out during connection so like I demand an explanation, i going on 2 o2 site now (if it aint barred in school)

Luke
6th October 2004, 12:39 PM
Don't use WAP much except for getting my poly tones from CBF.

It wasn't really their fault I lost credit cos they phoned me up and I just agreed to a load of stuff to get them off the phone lol.

Anywho at least I got somethin out of them for free LOL

BTW, Email is pointless they have never replied to any i've sent them. I alway find phoning up and playing hell is more effective. ;)

Topped up my phone had £8 summit without using my phone it drops to £1.41. then they decide to give me a lil compensation in the form of my cred going UP 2 £3.91 hmmmmm this dnt seem very funny to me and i aint laughing I raging

I've complaind 3 times already and if this is their idea of a joke i aint laughing

Rub it in y dnt ya, I wnt my money back ALL OF IT £2.50 was a nice gesture in a sense but when they take like 7 quid off ya for no reaosn b4 hand ya kinda think hey wait a minute and well like me u complain. I think this is one of the rare times i have a right to complain and will do so til I get my cred back (dnt worry will complain directly 2 o2 ok so u wnt hear half as much as o2 will :D

Laura20

Stub you got to be nice or else you get nothing back.

Ben
6th October 2004, 10:23 PM
She has a point... always best to be ultra nice and 'victimised' rather than ultra cocky. All depends on the operator you speak to, but most will at least try and help someone who has been hard-done-by.

The Mullet of G
6th October 2004, 10:43 PM
yeah its a double edged sword though, as sometimes if you come accross to nice you just become easy to fob off, personally I take the hard line approach if I do not get a satisfactory response then I demand to speak to there superior taking there name and job title on the way for future reference, I will continue this tactic untill eventually someone gives a satisfactory response, I have used this to great effect as most of these phone jockeys buckle fairly easily under the pressure, for instance when Vodafone recently imposed content barring on its mobile internet service, I called and used said tactic untill they eventually agreed to credit £15 to my account to cover my taxi fares to my local Vodafone shop to get the barring lifted, do not underestimate the power of the spoken word, always remember though never swear and never lose your cool, as long as you are argueing your point in a civil manner then they have no excuse to hang up on you. ;)
