Yep, leave everything to the last mintue. I can talk just finsihed my I.T coursework which was due Monday :p

I have sort of mixed views on it...

I think that if someone is suffering then they should be able to commit euthanasia but then the doctors are only human and could make a mis-diagnosis.

Plus it could lead to serious problem .i.e the person who helped getting into trouble with the law.

I think that if a person is suffering and has little or no quality of life that they should have the right to end their life.

I think that you should be able to ask a spouse to assist you if you are not able to do so yourself and it should not be against the law. Providing the person who has made the decision is of sound mind.

They are able to get away with it in hospitals why can people not do it themselves.

My auntie was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and there was nothing they could do for her and the dr. assisted in her death by giving her a higher dose of morphine.

So why can people not do this at home.

its not actually allowed in hospitals.. is it? thats why people go away to other countries to do the deed.its actually a pain in the ass trying to find other peoples view on why it SHOULD be made legal.. so ive only got my views and im pretty sure the other people in the team will be pretty much the same.. woo wait till its my turn * uh yeah... all my points have been said*

didn't we speak about this before? anyways I think we did so henceforth I stand by my original comments whatever they were, that is I agree with whats been said here or something, on another note I think if someone else is effecting your quality of life you should be able to euthanise them, say your in a shop and some old goat in front of you in the que is trying to pay for a large amount of goods with stamps and coppers, I think you should be entiteled to perform a citezens euthanasia on them, who knows they may have fallen asleep at the wheel of there car and killed several people later that day, is that proper justification for a citezens euthanasia though? unfortunately as usuall the government have been slow to act and pass legislation on this issue. :)

Euthanasia is a complex issue, so many people see it as the right hing to do, putting some1 out of their misery. The problem is in quite a few cases of euthanasia the person killed of had a chance of recovering. In a since all euthanasia is to me is mercy killings. And I have to stick with my principals and say I'm against euthanasia. we all have a limited time on this earth, maybe even if the person is in pain, the life that person has will still have a purpose. if we kill off that person outta 'mercy' then maybe that person will not have the same impact. Who are we to decide who lives and who dies? who are we to hold mercy that can change a life. I'm sorry but I am definately against this. It just doesn't seem right

lmao quality :p

I've said this once and I'll say it yet again, people will quite happily have there family pet put down if it is in pain etc, as it is "the right thing to do" but when it comes to an equally suffering family member all of a sudden its not the right thing to do, for me this demonstrates that people allow there feelings to cloud there judgement, if you want to bring it down to a life is a life brass tacks, and what right one life has to end another, then putting down your family pet is just the same as euthanasia, only thing is you don't see many family pets asking for or consenting to be put down, its usually done as an act of mercy as no one wants to see there family pet suffer, but on the other hand they would choose to keep a family member alive and watch them suffer even though that family member wishes to end it, for me this demonstrates that people allow there own feelings to come before that of the suffering family member, as they would rather keep them alive and suffering than deal with there loss, no one wants to lose a family member or someone they know as it is heartbreaking, I hate to use such a tacky phrase for such a touchy subject but you've sometimes got to be cruel to be kind, and sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the better of someone else, I don't think euthanasia is always the way though as Stub rightly pointed out some people may make a full recovery. :)

I agree that if somebody has had little or no quality of life then they should be allowed to be asisted in committing suicide, wow, suicide just sounds bad, but still, people do have the right to make their own decision about whether they live or not, we watched 'the boy who's skin fell off' in R.E. the other day, it was so horrible to see, but he had such a bad life and he got through it but the only things that kept him going were his family and the charity that he was part of to help others like himself. This thread reminds me of that little baby that they had to decide whether to keep resusitating her or to just let her die the next time she needed it. They let her die but I dont know if you could class that as euthanasia?
