So I woke up this morning to a message saying that my account had reached its credit limit and to call to sort it out, I was like WTF have they slapped a cacky £40 limit on my account? so I phoned them only to be told my bill is sitting at £106 and I'm only halfway through my payment month, it turns out T Mobile are still back in the dark ages and charging £7.50 per mb of GPRS, I asked why they weren't trying to be competitive, I used the example of Tesco checking the price of Asda's beans and then adjusting there price accordingly, to which they replied "how do you know that we aren't doing that?" erm maybe because more than 2 years down the line and your still charging the same scandelous amount thats about 3 times more than everyone else, my normal monthly bill on Vodafone was between £50 and £70 a month the fact that I'm only halfway through the month and double that while I've been using my phone conservatively is outrageous, when faced with this information the response was "we're not Vodafone" yeah you're not joking there don't try and compare yourself with a real network, in summary its now left me with a contract phone that feels more restricted than pay as you go or even 3's walled garden, and probably twice as expensive, so I feel I am left with no other choice than to rip that robbing scumbag of a T Mobile sim card outta my shiney 6630 and put it in the bin, replacing it with one of my other 2 Vodafone contract sims, and also urge all of you to either do the same or avoid T Mobile at all costs which knowing them will be fairly substantial, ok rant over :)

Nasty :(

Networks can be very very expensive for data still, but worryingly the price of data can shift dramatically depending on which contract you take out.

On Orange I've got 50mb data free each month for 12 months. Outside of that it costs just 50p/MB! :P

Go home T-Mobile!

Do T-Mobile have any data bundles you could buy?

Call Voda and get one of your SIMs 3G-enabled (if it isn't already) and give Voda 3G a whirl.

But.. it was T-Mobile that charged him so much, not Vodafone. Contract data rates on Vodafone are £2.35/MB, a fraction of the cost.

nah I'll hold my hands up I didn't actually check the call data charges I didn't even give them a second thought, what can I say I was overcome with new phone fever, I had been with T Mobile before though and was aware of there non competitive nature pricewise, but I thought things may have changed in those 2 years as most other networks have came on leaps and bounds but not T Mobile.

I'm gonna take your advice there Ben and go back to Vodafone T Mobile do have data bundles but I prefer Vodafones pricing, the only problem is my phone is currently locked to T Mobile and the 6630 isn't the easiest phone to unlock, also Vodafone have never charged me a penny for voicemail but I guess thats the joy of being on contract, I also wouldn't class Vodafone as being expensive its only expensive if you pay a lot and get vey little in return, I'd say Vodafones prices are good value for money, I'm thinking of getting in touch with OFCOM or whatever they are called and complaining about T Mobiles non competitive attitude.

don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the quality of there network, as anywhere I've been in Scotland and I've covered pretty much all of it the network has been good and is only bettered by Vodafone, most of my mates are on O2 and they are always having signal problems or network busy tedium, large music festivals are where a network really stands and falls for me though, obviously its easy to get lost so being able to contact your mates by mobile is a must, unfortunately it seems that if there is more than 30 people using there phones in the same cell O2 just folds misserably, while my mates are unable to even make calls or text on O2, T mobile and Vodafone are able to not only do both but also provide full speed internet access via GPRS, my beef with T Mobile was one purely based on prices I have absolutely no beef with the quality of there network.
