how do people

i've recently acquired a series 60 phone and heard you can load all sorts of software onto it. i did a search on the forums for links and things and found one thread setup by turbodiesel (http://cbfmobile.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4628) but most of the links were broken.

i just wondered whether anyone here can advise me on any must-have pieces of software i should have for my device (plus maybe some fun stuff ;)).

obviously free stuff is better, but if you know of any must-haves that you have to pay for it doesnt matter too much.

cheers peeps

The Sendo X has always puzzled me somewhat its kinda the phone that missed its moment, I remember when it was first announced it was ahead of its time, but Sendo took an absolute age to release it, and by the time they did it was all but obsolete due to it having an old version of the Symbian OS, as a result a lot of the newer apps wont work as they are designed for Symbian OS 7, but fear not there should still be loads of apps that will work just a case of trying them out, worthy of note are Facewarp and Facewave which don't work on newer versions of Symbian, I'd also recommend ControlFreak from Mtvoid which controls Winamp from your phone, even though I know your not a Winamp user it might just change your mind, Smartmovie is also a must have for playing full screen xvids, as is Picodrive for playing those old Megadrive classics, and even C2Doom which allows you to run .wad files designed for the doom engine, which means you can run the PC version of Duke Nuken, Doom, Heretic or Hexen on your phone, and even play deathmatches via bluetooth, if you have any problems getting hold of any apps or games give me a shout and I'll see what I can do. ;)

@ TD, Thanks my good man I'm not worthy of such praise. :D

How did you get on with those apps? Any info on compatibility issues greatly appreciated as I've not had much dealings with the Sendo X.

On a seperate note I have a new version of Picodrive which is a Megadrive emulator for S60 if anyone wants it, this one has full sound emulation albeit it has a slight hit on performance, but it can be switched off from the options, and I also have Quake 1 and Duke Nukem both identical to there PC counterparts if anyones interested. :D

Hell yeah dude, the Streets of Rage series were some of the greatest games ever, crafted back when gameplay ruled above uber realistic graphics, but yeah seems to be closer to 3 or 4 Roms I reckon TD. :p

That forum blows, the majority of people on the S60 forum there are still using 7650's and 3650's, I'd say they were just being nostalgic, but lets face it its basically a collection of green horns discussing apps that are almost as old as they are. :D

Do any of you chaps, I'm looking at you Mr Mullet, happen to know where I can get my hands on Picodrive 0.17 or 0.18? The earlier versions dont seem to like the 6680. I'm seriously deprived of Streets of Rage 2...

*Never worry, I found it in the end! Huzzah!*

Glad to hear you managed to find it, if I'm not mistaken the sound actually works on Streets of Rage 2 which is a bonus, if not then it does on Streets of Rage 1. :D

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I didn't see the point in creating a new one for pretty much the same question.

Anyone have any idea where i could get my hands on a genesis emulator that would work with my N73? All of my older versions don't work with Symbian 3rd edition.

chars

Or some other decent applications would be good
