can ne1 help me with my new pc pls?

ok i just bought a new pc (well new to me) but theres 2 little probs im having:

number 1: when im doing stuff offline, the pc decides to dial-up to internet of its own accord! wots with that???

number 2: when pc has finished booting instead of starting from my desktop, it starts with a screen prompting me to sign in to msn messenger

any help appreciated. thanks guys and gals

You need disable auto-connect in your internet options. And you need to disable MSN starting up when windows starts up in messengers options.

Yeah, it's in 'internet options' in control panel, on the conections tab and you need to tick 'Never dial a connection'

accessories
system tools
system info
(select tab) TOOLS
system configuaration utility
(select tab) START UP

then tick un/tick selected boxes, for computer to start programs up...
