i'm getting charged 12p a text!

hi i'm getting charged 12p a text when it should be 10p according to my price plan. any ideas?

All O2 texts even if on Genie sim are 12P even the text when you have run out on the Genie says they are 12p so if you getting them for 10p Yey to you!!

Normal o2 sim but you get 300 free texts as long as u put on 10 quids a month. Illegal?! naa!

Do you even get Genie sims these days? as far as I'm aware Genie sims stopped ages ago and were replaced by the standard O2 ones that everyone now has, which are technically the same thing except they don't have Genie written on them, either way I'd give them a miss as the free messages and stuff are a false economy that don't compensate for the poor quality of the network.

Those aren't Genie sims they are just normal O2 ones with 300 texts, if I'm not mistaken Genie sims had free texts and free wap they also have Genie written on them, I haven't seen proper Genie sims for ages.

But it still doesn't have Genie written on it, hence it isn't a Genie sim.

The genie SIM's disappeared ages ago, I always thought that Genie was bought out by BT Cellnet around the time they changed their name to O2. The O2 SIMs with 300 free texts are actually called O2 Online, rather than genie - but I guess that don't really matter lol.

My text's are always 12p on O2 when my Bolt-on's have run out. :\

Yep, just to confirm..
Luke and Mullet got it pretty much covered there :)
The sim everyone is currently using are correctly called 'o2 online' sims.
The old genie sims ceased production a few years back (If i remeber rightly, they were actually green and white in color)
But the tarriff has beed moved from genie to o2 online, although it has been changed somewhat over the years. The original genuine genie sim cards offered free unlimited texts and free unlimited wap (via CSD) for your minimum monthly topup.
There are still a few of these going about, but they sell for silly money!

When you are on o2's talkalot tariff you are charged 10p/text
When you are on o2's original tariff you are charged 12p/text

Yep its best to be on the talkalot tarriff you can call 2425 to change and for info, latest charges are below...

Edit: I notice that gprs has gone up from £2.35 per MB to £3 but customer service has come down to 20p per min from 50 per min, bit better ;)
