I did it, and they replied saying I'd receive my free texts.
I then topped up £10 and they instantly took off £7.99.
I suggest you don't use this. They WILL charge you.
I phoned them up, and they said the free airtime is only available to new o2 customers. Else you're signing up for a paid bolt-on.
However, they were fully cooperative in it being their mistake in telling me it was free, and thus re-creditted me my £7.99 and indeed the £1.14 it cost me to call them.

I got another text saying:
your balance must remain in credit when your Bolt On is activated. As you have insufficient funds we will try to activate your Bolt On when you next top up
so i emailed them and got this reply:
Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service.
As per your request, I have cancelled the Calls 50 Bolt On from your account and no further amounts will be debited from your account when you top-up.

Promotional period ends on 10th January, so dont go texting for your free bolt-on after this.
If you want to cancel this bolt-on at any time, text 'Calls50 OFF' to 21300

if you've ordered the bolt on & get charged , so long as none of the calltime has been used o2 will refund , if minutes have been used you'll be charged for the month & a end to date will be added to cancel so yr not charged the following month , so Fran you should be able to order no problem , newcastler , complain all you want , if you've used any of the mins after being charged , no refund.

Youre obviously an o2 fan and your entitled to your own opinion, as is The Mullet of G.
But being cheeky to a moderator - probably not your smartest move!

turbodiesel , if mulletboys a moderator & feels the need to put a stop on me posting on here, then thats up2 him , i admit that sometimes o2 do have probs with their systems, but most of the calls they receive are from customers that have not followed simple instructions to get their free rewards, msgs , calltime , remembered their ann.dates, it pisses me off when ppl slag of something they have no idea how it works.
as for the calls50 , msg100 & home250 free for 3 months , its being run for another 3 months to NEW customers from the 11/01 but online/genie customers are NOT eligable this time.

No one wants to stop you from posting least of all me, just lighten up a bit and don't take things so personally, if you have a point you wish to get across then try and convey it without resorting to name calling and the like, people will be more likely to embrace your opinion and engage in constructive conversation, sure I like to have a pop at O2 but I'm not having a pop at you, just like I enjoy having a pop at France its all in good humor. :)

I got £20 free calltime on New Years Day... :D
Here's the story!
I went to put £20 on and the woman behind the counter in my local Tesco Express told me that it wont accept the transaction... i was thinkin "i dont need this..." but i assumed the network congestion the night before might have had something to do with it. So she tried it 2 more times and it still said failed. so she gave me a voucher (it looks like a receipt) so i left the shop. Dialled 4444 and it went and told me my balance which i expected to be £0.00. It wasn't, it was £20.00!! It had accepted but for some reason the systems in the shop told me it failed, so i thought "what should i do with the voucher then?". I put the voucher in and it took me up to £40.00!!
I got £32.43 of it left :D
I'm not sure if the swipe card is faulty because i haven't tried it since that day, but if it is faulty i doubt i'll register a new one! :D

That happened to me once, sometimes the reciept says the transaction was rejected so they do it twice and you discover that it wasnt really rejected
