So you just bought a top of the range nokia from that guy in the market for 20 squids. A phone that usually costs 300 in the shops but is it nicked?
Type *#06# to bring up the fones serial. If it isn't the same as the one printed underneath your battery then theres something rotten in the state of denmark!
Or type *#92702689#, (which spells *#WAR0ANTY#) to bring up a hidden menu which includes when it was made, purchase date, life timer, the last repair date and the option to bulk dump the simcard through a data cable.
You'll need to turn the fone off and on again to put it into normal mode...or wait three minutes.
These codes are switches
*NUMBER# is on
#NUMBER# is off
and
*#NUMBER# Is a status report.
Theres others like ** and ## but they're used mainly for quick control of services like divert and number sending.
