righty,here goes :

Ive a nokia 3310,i chat to ma friend in australia on MSN.Today we exchanged mobile numbers to txt,even though she did 44 instead of 0,our txts cant send either way............

Is there something we have to do,im on SMARTSTEP pay as u go

Ive a mate in Holland and txts go ok there,both ways



Any ideas guys/gals ?

also - does anyone know the status of sending messages back to the uk from holiday in the balerics? does my O2 P+G online mobile send messages back? i know i can receive them...

ok u can use ur fone/sim to text/call any country. the single/dual/tri band thing doesnt come into it. the band thing only applies when ur roaming. u should be able to both send and receive texts to mobiles in other countries.
you only need a tri-band handset for roaming in the u.s.a or canada.
bear in mind it can take up to 72 hours for a sms to be delivered.

note also that some of the networks in australia don't seem to work with SMS received from GSM networks and so possibly the other way round. Some of them are very shoddy indeed :P One of the first countries CBFSMS.com stopped sending to was Australia because of all the problems they had.
