I take it folks are actually using these SIMs, not just hording/selling them? Vodafone is a stellar network and this free text allowance is too good to turn down - especially for anyone currently on O2! Remember that all Vodafone SIM's are also 3G capable, so you're future-proof.

yeh, ive actually converted from 02 to vodafone, vodafone are beating 02's ass bad

It's a topup-with-£15 jobbie.

You should be able to port, yes. Call Vodafone CS on 191.

The offers finished now, which is why their £2. I can stick one in the post if ya like tho.

Ah probably why then. From what i read on their site, it did mention 2 months of 500 free texts with no top-up. But we shall see. Seriously thinking about moving from O2 Online to Vodafone now tho.

All they're saying now is "500 FREE TEXTS every month that you TopUp a total of £15 or more in the previous month". So it looks like you top up by £15 or more in a month and the following month get the 500 texts. I guess at least then you know exactly when the free texts start and finish.

Can't fault the network, it's fantastic... 'most reliable in Britain' they claim in their latest ads (after getting their wrists slapped for 'Best in Britain bar none').

just to get the free text things cleared up -

1000 free texts for 2 months (come in two packages , 500 each month) as long as you register your sim card before the end of this month i think it is, and you will recieve your free texts within 30 days ( i recieved mine in 29 lol )
THEN after they are up, you top up £15 a month and get your 500 free texts a month.

Luke > yeh tht would be a wise choice i done the same thing, cant go wrong with 500 texts and stop the clock all in the one :)

Jemma

Extra £5 n i get 200 extra txts....

Hmm - i wont be able to register it by the end of the month tho cos im going on holiday the weekend...

newcastler
21st June 2006, 11:37 PM
get someone else to regester it for ya under your name. and u sure about the extra £5 then u get 700 texts? :S i havent seen that anywhere... and do ya get to keep he money in your phone?

Jemma
21st June 2006, 11:40 PM
I meant my O2 one that im on at the moment. Im paying £10 a month to get 300 txts whereas if i go to Vodaphone i pay a extra £5 for 200 more messages.

What happens with the £15 you top tho?

newcastler
21st June 2006, 11:45 PM
o rite i know what ya mean...

as for the £15 you top up, stays in your phone just as it does with 02.

and another thing jemma, even with 02 you top up £15 you get 500 free texts (requires opting in) but its still available on 02 aswell, its just voda has stop the clock which just edges it into the lead

Jemma

Isnt it a bolt on thing with O2?

Whats stop the clock jobbie?

newcastler
21st June 2006, 11:53 PM
no jemma with 02 it is -
£10 = 300 texts
£15-£29 = 500 texts
£30+ = 1000 texts

and the stop the clock is quite simple - talk for up to 60 minutes and pay for just 3. call another vodafone for 45p for the first 3 minutes then the next 57 minutes are free. call another network for £1.05 and the next 57 minutes are free :)

Jemma
21st June 2006, 11:57 PM
Im not bothered bout the stop the clock jobbie cos i dont ring anyone.

Perhaps ill speak to O2 bout upping my txts - Cheers Newcastler!

Luke

Ooo wait, so you can get 500 texts on O2 for £15 a month? If ya can then I'll probably do that instead.

Jemma
22nd June 2006, 09:58 AM
Yea im thinking that Lukeh cos i dont ring anyone so that stop the clock thing would be a waste.

Ben
22nd June 2006, 12:20 PM
If the value is like-for-like, why not go with the better network? Unless Vodafone has network issues in your areas?

ive told ya tht b4 on Msn u fool! lol

i dnt make much calls myself personally, but ya nvr know when ya mite need to make a lengthy call! , both networks re offerin the same amount of text for the same top-up but save a few quid with calls on vodafone.

well im happy with my switch anyway

Jemma

Im not sure what Voda is like in my area. I had a thing back along where you could check what the networks are like around ya area but i cant remember it now.

Anyone have any ideas?
