em most phones will have a button you press to goto your voicemail, but if you can't find it then all you do is phone your own mobile number and it puts you through to your mailbox :)

em as far as I'm aware it doesn't matter which phone it is it should still work the same, I've had a fair rake of phones and this has worked on every one of them including all the Nokia's I've had, so if he is definitely phoning his own mobile number and it isn't working then it could be something to do with the network he's on which network is he on just out of interest?
