Unlock 6288 on Three

Hi! Thought I'd come back for a flying visit....

I think I asked this before, but does anyone know if any tools for unlocking a Nokia 6288 on Three have been invented yet? 9 months into the contract they are still annoying me enough to try and leave.

Hey Rich :)

AFAIK unlocking modern Nokia's is still difficult. It's likely you'd have to pay one way or the other. When you're out of contract Three will probably do the unlock for a small fee. You could even call up and try your luck now.

Alternatively, if Three really is hopeless for you (what do I mean for you, it's hopeless for everyone, almost) then you could recoup some money via eBay and get a new phone on a new contract on a new network.

Looking like that might be the way to do it! I did think that by changing to the O2 PAYG with free text/minute thing I could save enough money to pay the cancellation fee on my current contract...forgetting my phone would still be locked to 3. Still tempted to do that and go back to my old 6230i, this is how much I dislike 3!

If you can pay out your Three contract then you should also qualify for an unlock at £10-£15... but you'd have to speak to them and see what you can do. Let us know!
