Nokia 8310

Sometimes my Nokia 8310 crashes just as I'm about to send a text message. Is there a site where I can download a software update.

Hi, yes very common problem, you do need a software upgrade, do you have the data cables for flashing the phone? You can pick them up for about £10.
If you do a google search for 'mobile cracks' usually you find a site that someone made which will let you download the upgrade off them....
If not, try taking it to your local phone shop, they maybe able to help you, but they may charge you £20+..

if its a common problem take it to your nearest Nokia centre and they will prolly sort it free of charge, and so they should as its clearly a manufacturing default, much like 8210's and there dodgey screens :)

this would also be the problem on my 8310 when it temporarily turns of some times after i send a txt?

yes, its a software problem.. the phone needs flashing.

Erm, sorry to bring a DEAD thread to life again...

BUT

My phone keeps turning itself off... CONSISTENTLY whether I am using it or NOT!!!

Bit of a bugger really :confusion

Just wanted to know if that is the same fault as above.. and if it needs 'flashing' can I take it back the Car Phone Warehouse? and they won't look at me all funny like when I ask em to flash me fone?

uhuh, i have an 8310 too and mine turns itself off after i've sent a txt sumtimes...it's so annoyin!
