How much does your service
cost, is it free?
CBFMobile delivers your ringtone or logo at
NO CHARGE. However, you have to request it
by text message, which means if your network
charge you for text messages, you have to
pay your normal text message cost - approximately
10p for most people in the UK! That means,
for just 10p, you're getting a ringtone or
logo texted back to you at no extra cost!
No surcharges or reversed-charges. On a normal
ringtone or logo site where you have to call
a premium rate number, call charges can be
in excess of £3.75 - and you have to
call from a land line. That's why CBFMobile
is so much better! Lets put an end to rip-off
ringtones and logos!

Why do I have to send
you a text message?
We want to ensure that we're here to stay,
not just for the short term like so many of
the excellent ringtone and logo websites of
the past. That's why we implemented this new
and exciting technology. Free services are
open to abuse - the main threat being automated
programs that whiz you through the sending
process without even visiting the site! Obviously
this isn't fair on a websites genuine users.
By making you text a short code, this abuse
is stopped, as no program can automatically
request hundreds of ringtones and logos without
human intervention. For Polyphonic Ringtones,
you do not need to send a text message, but
you do have to use WAP to download the ringtone
to your phone. Please note that
we are NOT charging you for ringtones and
logos. All text messages to CBFMobile are
charged at the standard rate of your network
- we do not surcharge. You text us to confirm
that you are a genuine user only to prevent
automated system abuse. WAP charges are also
at the standard rate of yoru WAP provider.
As a direct result of this abuse prevention,
we are able to provide a 24x7 unlimited service
in return. WE WELCOME COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS.

Why have I not received my Ringtone/Logo?
Most of the ringtones and logos sent from
our site arrive within seconds. However, some
may experience transmission errors. Errors
are resent every hour so there is no need
to resend your choice, it will not arrive
any faster. If you do not receive your choice
after several hours, either try again or contact
us to let us know. Some new mobile phone numbers
are not yet set up to receive SMS from CBFMobile.
If you don't receive anything AT ALL after
several attempts at using our service, contact
your network and complain. We'd also like
to hear from you so that we can chase up the
problem with your network - see "I can't
find the answer I'm looking for". Polyphonic
ringtones are downloaded directly by you over
WAP, so if you have problems, go
here to get help. Remember, although you
send a text message to us to request your
ringtone or logo, you haven't actually paid
us anything.

How do I delete my logo?
You will have been prompted whether to save
the logo to your phone, with a preview option.
We remind you that it is your own responsibility
to remove or replace a logo that you or someone
else sends to your phone. On most UK mobile
phones and networks, you can delete your operator
logo by sending ANY other logo to your phone
from CBFMobile but selecting the WRONG network.
For example, selecting T-Mobile when you are
on Orange. As the operator code will be wrong
in the logo you receive, when you save it
your default operator logo should appear.
If this does not work, you should consult
our message
boards or contact your network. But -
why have your network operator logo when there
are tens of thousands to choose from here?

Can I delete ringtones
from my phone?
CBFMobile does not offer support for individual
handsets. Some handsets may allow manual ringtone
deletion - see your manual for details. However,
as a general rule, ringtones are replaced
with new ringtones that you send to your phone
once your number of empty ringtone slots is
filled - just replace a ringtone you don't
want anymore. You cannot usually delete preset
ringtones to make room for custom ones.

What do I need to use this website?
It is suggested that you use the latest version
of Internet Explorer available from Microsoft
when viewing the CBFMobile site. This website
should work trouble-free on any computer running
the latest versions of Microsoft Windows and
Internet Explorer with their default configuration.
However, here are some suggestions if you
cannot use the site. In Tools > Internet
Options of Internet Explorer, check in the
Privacy tab that the slider is no higher than
Medium. CBFMobile relies on cookies to operate
correctly - harmless tiny files stored on
your PC to protect CBFMobile from abuse. In
some cases, you will need to set this slider
to Low for the duration of using the site.
Adjusting settings in the Security tab can
also help. Firewalls and other software can
interfere with your Internet connection. If
you are experiencing problems, disable your
firewall for the duration of using the site.

How can I add Logos
and Tones to free-ringtones-free-logos.com
Firstly, use the converter or creator to generate
your ringtone or logo as you would normally.
You still go through the same process of sending
it to your phone. Once you have received your
creation, and checked it works correctly,
you can go to Session Status and click Options
next to it. In options, you will see two buttons.
Making something Public means it is added
to the Custom Gallery and anyone can download
it. Making it private means you will be given
a special code - only people with this code
can access the download.

What is the Public Custom
Gallery and Private Codes?
You will notice that when you make or edit
a ringtone or logo, you get two extra buttons
on the final screen giving you your code to
text in. You can either save your custom item
to the Gallery, so everyone can access it,
or you can save it Privately, so only you
can access it with a private code. You enter
your code on the Logos or Tones page of the
site. If the ringtone or logo you have sent
is already private, you get the option to
extend the private period, or make the item
public.

Can I send a
ringtone or logo to my friends?
Yes. However, you will still need to text
us the code you are shown on-screen to verify
that you are a genuine user. To protect the
person you are sending to, we have censored
the selection of logos in our database that
you can send. Any logo in the Adult category
will not be allowed, if they want an Adult
logo then they should come to the site and
send it themselves. You can send Polyphonic
ringtones to your friends, but they still
have to go on WAP themselves to enter the
code and download it. Why not text them the
details using cbfsms.com?

What is International Format
Quite simply, it is how you would enter your
mobile number if calling it from abroad. You
start with your country code, and follow it
with the mobile number. If your mobile number
would normally start with a zero (0), this
is normally removed. For example, UK number
07970123456 becomes International number 447970123456.
International mobile numbers do not start
with "00"! Our Country Code
list will help you by putting in the country
code for your country. If you still are not
sure how to enter your number, please contact
your mobile phone network who will be happy
to assist you. Our intelligent numbering system
will attempt to adjust your number if you
enter it incorrectly. If you believe the adjustments
made are wrong, please contact us.

What phones support Ringtones and
Logos
All phones that support Nokia Smart Messaging
are usually compatible. This covers most Nokia
phones, but for more information contact your
supplier or user guide. We are working to
introduce support for many more mobile phones,
so please continue to visit us if your phone
is not currently available, and check back
regularly. Polyphonic ringtones work on a
wider range of phones, so please give them
a go if you think your phone might be compatible,
and then let us know here.
Please note that any-old phone that accepts
ringtones or logos does not necessarily work
with this format - we wish we could support
all formats of ringtone and logo but please
respect that this is a free service and it
is not always viable to do this.

Do you do anything with my phone
number?
CBFMobile will log everything you do while
you are on our site. However, we will not
pass on your details to third parties. We
do reserve the right to use your details to
contact you if needed. For full details on
how we use your details, read our concise
Privacy Statement before you use the service.
Unlike other ringtone and logo websites, we
are here to protect your privacy - which is
why we don't even ask you to register!

Can I make my own Logos?
YES. Click Logo Converter or Logo Creator.
Simply follow the instructions to create a
logo or convert a suitable image of your choice
from your PC or another web site and send
it straight to your phone. Images for the
converter work best in monochrome and either
72x14 pixels in size, or in the ratio of 72:14.
It's fun - experiment! Note that you only
select the image from your PC OR enter the
URL to an image online - not both!

Can I make my own Ringtones?
YES. Click Tone Converter or Tone Creator.
You can either design your own ringtone online
or try sending a MIDI file or RTTTL code to
your phone (MIDI will be converted to RTTTL
automatically, though not always perfectly).
For details, see the online instructions that
guide you through the process. You cannot
make your own polyphonic tones at this time.

Is this service really Unlimited?
We take the word "Unlimited" to
mean that we do not place set restrictions
on the frequency you can use our service.
However, our system will act to protect itself
against abuse. Due to the demand placed upon
our system, there may also be times when our
service is either down or not available. Please

this service for you, for free.

Can I inform you of faulty tones/logos?
We welcome all information regarding faulty
tones and logos. Please go to our message
boards and leave a message in the correct
category so our volunteers can review it.
You can also Vote-by-text for your ringtone
or logo once you have received it. The process
is explained on the website when you send
a ringtone or logo, and it allows you to text
back a rating to let other people know what
the quality was like.

Do you send to my Country/Network?
CBFMobile sends to all of the major UK networks
and the services that run under them. If you're
not sure what network your service runs under,
then contact your service and ask. If your
network is not available on our network list,
then selecting "Other" will use
a default selection - note that the chances
of success may be reduced by using this option.
CBFMobile only sends to countries that are
able to financially back their users. Currently,
sponsorship only covers UK users, and therefore
CBFMobile can only send to the UK. NOTE: We
send EVERY ringtone or logo you request. If
you do not receive it for any reason, then
it is most likely to be an interconnection
or network issue that is out of our control,
but we welcome your feedback. YOUR TEXT MESSAGE
TO US MUST ORIGINATE FROM WITHIN THE UK!

What does it mean that "The Service is Temporarily Unavailable due to High Demand"? Why is this happening?
Our service is extremely popular. At all times
we try to make you aware of the system status.
We cannot send more ringtones and logos than
we have, and therefore at times our service
will be unavailable. Please be aware that
this is a free service, and be patient. You
will be given a time when the service will
resume, and you should return to the main
page and start sending your choice again after
this time. If your web browser has cached
the System Status indicator window, thus showing
the same indicator all the time rather than
getting the constantly updated one from our
servers, then you may find it hard getting
through. Right-click on the System Status
window where it says "System OK"
or "Avail. in xx Mins" and select
"Refresh" from the menu that appears
(in Internet Explorer). This should get the
latest information for you.

What is a Request Code?
What can I do if I can't see it?
A request code is a sequence of numbers and
letters that you need to text to CBFMobile's
SMS number in order to receive the ringtone
or logo at the number you selected. You must
text from the number you specified following
the instructions on the screen. CBFMobile
matches up this code and your mobile number
with the details you entered on the system,
working out what ringtone or logo it needs
to send you. If you can't see the code, your
browser does not support our technology. You'll
need to upgrade to a browser such as Microsoft
Internet Explorer to use our service.

Can I link to your site from mine?
Yes. You can visit our link2us
area to learn more about why it is great to
link to CBFMobile from your website. If you
wish to link to us with a custom image or
image from our site, contact us with the URL
to the page containing it on your website.
You are required to do this by law so CBFMobile
can check the use of the logo or image is
suitable.

Can I use CBFMobile.com
if I have a 3G phone?
Yes, with exceptions. Three UK do not allow
you to download other peoples content via
the handset, so you won't be able to download
polyphonics. You will be able to receive SMS
based content though providing you have a
compatible phone. All the other UK 3G networks,
like Orange 3G for example, will allow you
to download our polyphonics without any problems.

Why wont Logos save on my Phone?
You've received your logo, but when you save
it, nothing comes up. Just the operator logo
of your Network. If you selected the correct
network from the list, then this shouldn't
happen. Remember - Virgin Mobile is a product
of T-Mobile, if you're not sure what network
your provider is operating on, call them.
If you're sure you did everything correct,
then we'd like to hear from you. We may contact
you by phone to ask if we can run some tests.
